Vivid Racing Turbo Kit #2 Underway
Is 5.5 the max that can be run or id there some extra room to play. I have excellent compression and engine is in great shape. I would imagine a 3.4 could actually run 6-8psi but 5.5 is the safest they will put their name too.
I'm SOOO close to purchasing the kit but I'm always a penny pincher. $8999 for the kit and @$2000 to install. I'm just waiting for a Special or a Military Discount.

I will say that with boost, comes engine knock, and with engine knock, comes kabooom
I feel that at 5.5-6psi the car is very strong and safe watching the AFR's. I dont want to test it higher. However we have another car (will be kit #3) that is a 3.4L which we are doing forged pistons and rods so we can run 15psi. It will be an animal and I cant wait to start the build thread.
About the pricing, PM sent.

Nothing different really. Water/Meth is used to take the place of race gas. So basically if you run 93 pump and spray water/meth, its like running 100oct. The thing is you have a limit of the amount of timing and what the engine can hold. So you might be able to sneak a lb or 2 of boost, but the risk reward is not there. I run the AEM water/meth kit in my 997TT because we only get 91oct here in AZ and I run a 93oct map. The 93oct maps have more aggressive timing which the 997TT can handle, but the pump fuel does not.
After showing some interest in the Kit, Dan, Owner of Vivid Racing contacted me, answered all my questions and really made me feel great about his product. I purchased my kit last night and my Porsche Performance Tuning Shop will have the kit in a short time and it will be going on my Porsche.
I wanted to thank Dan and the whole Team at Vivid for being extrememly Professional and offering a great product.

So this particular kit is getting catalytic converters. So we had to make a new JIG to do this part. Slight different bend near the header end flange. Check out the pics

Here are some pics of our quad tips. Like the rest of the components, we designed it to work on a factory style ball flange to offer adjustment. Unlike fix mount flanges, you will never have an issue with install and alignment
