I believe it stems from the fact that as the suspension is unloaded (weight comes off) the wheels move inboard somewhat, reducing clearance to the bars.

still a bit humorous that going "airborne" in your 996 would even be an issue... just sayin.

I don't plan on going airborne any time soon, so I'm not too concerned about it.

For future reference:

I mounted the wheels today and went for a spirited test drive - no issues at all, though I didn't go airborne.
