That's exactly the way mine works. If you lift it up briefly, it accelerates by 1 mph. If you push it down, it decelerates by 1 mph.

I miss my cruise control. It's the one feature that I would like to have now. I wouldn't care how the buttons make it work.

It's way better than the cruise control in our Audi or in our Volvo. The Cayenne is a little different than the 911, but still works basically the same way.
