What IS this?

Walking back to my car for the last auto-x run of the day, I see this hanging down by its wires by my R/F wheel. The other end appears to be sheared off from something, but I can't figure out what.

The car drove home just fine. Is it a coolant sensor for the aux fan or something?

Thanks in advance!!

Temperature sensor

It's the temperature sensor that for the readout on the dash. It needs to be back in the bumper.

Thanks rabbi. Since it sheared off from somewhere in the bumper, I'm guessing I need a new one?

Ha, found it! 99661610100. Fan resistor. It didn't shear off something, it just scraped somewhere when I hit that cone. Just got to get it back in its spot. It still works.
