I contact the seller and told me that the following product will not fit to my 996 and K & N does not produce any more air intake for the 996

Did this mod on my car. Power increase... yes, but I doubt it was 23HP. Sound is like normal unless you step on it - then it becomes a great addition to the exhaust sound. Gas mileage goes up as well. Overall I was very satisfied with it.
Never had any MAS issues. Just make sure you NEVER oil from the inside of the filter...

But am I getting something wrong here? $900 sure sounds expensive for a K&N...
no you are not wrong. K & N kits are about 300$ here in Greece. But this one is for 900$, you see its for Porsche, thats why. That is the way most dealers work here...And thats why economy hits bottom(actually hasn't, still collapsing

I hate to tell you that you wasted your $900 but you did.
Porsche MAFs, especially on the 996, are notoriously touchy, and oiled filters tend to foul them very easily. And the 996 motor is already very well tuned from the factory and there's very little you can do to it to make more power short of a supercharger. Even the X51 kit doesn't do a ton, and that's a very expensive factory option.
The only thing aftermarket intakes do is give you more sound. Most of the time they introduce hot engine bay air and actually reduce power.
