Back up (reverse) camera

A few months ago i installed a Kenwood 6960 but avoided buying the camera because of the mounting but figured i should revisit the issue. So i am just trying to get an idea of where any of you may have mounted your reverse camera. I am trying to avoid the license plate frame if possible.

Also any thoughts on the cheap reverse cameras on ebay?

Why do you need a reverse camera on a 911? Can't you just turn your head? The visibility toward the rear is very clear and unobstructed.

there are still blind spots such as hydrants that you cant see look backwards. but i didn't find rear cam needed either. since he has a nav unit, it isn't a bad idea though. if i were him, i would do a bluetooth setup to take calls and stream music too.

I went with the generic made for Audi reverse camera on ebay. It replaces one of license plate lights, and clicks into the opening of one of them. I paid under $100 for the camera, and it includes the necessary wire to bring it up to the headunit.

Thanks guys. I do have bluetooth calling and ipod hook up on the kenwood. As for the camera--why do i need it? You guys are absolutely right, i don't, but its a feature already built-in to the head unit. For the prices for the cameras on ebay as peterpokerplane has pointed it, it's more like a "why not". I installed the head unit and amps myself, but avoided the camera because i'm not too fond of the license plate camera look (and didnt want to take the paneling apart to make it to the rear bumper unless i figured out something that would not be too aesthetically obtrusive.

I did see the cameras that fit in the license plate light for other vehicles, but none for porsche 996s or 911 (they have Cayenne). If nothing else, i may have to do some drilling...

Peterpokerplane, how was the clarity of that camera? Gracias.
