Center radiator

OK guys..

Im here in Texas and we have had 89 100 deg days in a row and my car ran on average at 210. anytime i decided to play with a "heavy" foot, i found myself on the cusp of over heating.

So.... i ordered the center radiator and when it arrived, I was a bit suprised on the size of this.

My question is.. Have any of you ran the Turbo center radiator( much larger) on a NB C2? I wouldn't think that there would be an issue other than being creative with mounting. I have the GT2 front bumper and the big radiator would not only keep the temp down, but also look kick *** too..

Thoughts?

Sounds like your cooling fans and/or relays are bad. The car shouldn't overheat, even in weather that hot. Does the a/c struggle to keep the car cool when you aren't moving? This is a sign of failed fans.

Both high speed and low speed fans are fine. Put your leg near one of the corners and you'll damned near burn your leg the air is so hot! When i put on the GT2 bumper, i even cleaned out the radiators. I've read dozens of threads that weather in the 100's cause these cars to run hot with or without the ac running.

A/C is ice cold.

Interesting. Mine runs right at 180 degrees, even when it's over 100 degrees. The only time that ever changed was when my fans failed.

Maybe the third radiator will help you.

I wonder if your water pump could be failing. Running that hot just doesn't sound right to me.

3k on new engine rebuild.. new EVERYTHIING. Not sure where you are reside, but in Austin, TX the heat is also with high humidity. I can control the temp if i keep the RPMs low, but if i decide to play around, i'll ge to 230 deg in no time at all.

I live in Colorado, but I grew up in Texas and lived in Austin (Dripping Springs actually) for several years. I know that heat all too well...

I hope the 3rd radiator solves the issue for you. Have you discussed it with your dealer or mechanic?

i'm in hawaii so it's never that hot but in high 80's continuously- i've 02 996 with no center rad- yrs ago i did the fan switch mod - really easy to do- allows fans to be run via switch-i run my fans after car warms up most of time esp in traffic or hard runs- it keeps temps down- when i run higher rpm for awhile temps go up but come down quick with the fans on. If temp gauge is to right of 0 in 180 it brings it down to middle of 0. Good & easy mod
