I will definitely be looking into the IMS replacement and possibly the Guardian.
Dennish did you do the work yourself? Anyone else have it done? Did you use a local shop or a dealer? Ballpark cost?

That's all you can do since it's too big to put under your pillow like your 1st baseball glove!

Thanks Jay,

I thought the same thing, any wheel suggestions? Where to buy etc...

Thanks I agree. I think the natural leather and the arena red is a great combo.

The Guardian is advertised as a DIY, and from what I gather it is. I had my mechanic friend install it for me. My car (MY 2003 C2) presented some problems due to a difference in the electronics from the install video and instruction booklet and a not so straight forward routing of the cable so it would be seamless and out of sight. So, I'm glad he did it and not me. Took him 2 hrs due to having to sort out the wiring. Most folks are reporting an easy go of it.

I did the same thing with the wine in the garage when I hot mine...as far as wheels good luck, let's see race or no race, bling or no bling, high price or reasonable and most importantly foreign or domestic. I have been looking to 2 years and I think I have decided on BBS CH .......so good luck

Very Nice! Enjoy it. Don't sweat the IMS thing too much. You'll address the issue when you redo the clutch. Change oil on schedule and look for particles in the filter

Very nice. I bought my first 996 this summer as well. I also live in IL (near WI). My car is almost the opposite color combo of yours. I have mirage ext (according to tire rack) and boxster red interior. I did add turbo seats (black) so not everything inside the car is red :-)
