New Somked LEDS - Pics
It seems like 997 wannabes are becoming almost as prevelent as the carbon fiber crackheads. With that said, I think these lights would add a nice finishing touch to a car wanting to achieve that 997.2 look or conversion.
Just to add to the detail Tarek307 provided in his other thread, the CF13GL-02 relay arrived today and I ultimately got it to work, after swapping that sucker on the 4th relay attempt. I've posted a picture, and you can't really see the relay that had to come out. It isn't one of the several with "53" on the face, but it's behind the black one with the small circular 23 (hard to see) and to the left of the tall white one with the black circular dot. It's shorter than those two so you have to go "up and over", and Tarek is right, you can really feel it blink. I was touching all the other ones but couldn't discern which one was blinking, so I just started swapping with other relays at random. The old relay has a "191" on it, and it has both the VW and four circle Audi ring symbol on it. Anyway, project complete. Total cost for me was $350 (lights plus tax) + $15 Relay + $36 labor from the local shop to exchange/wire the lights = $401 total. It looks like the Dectanes would run about 1.3 (current Euro exchange rate) X $479 = $623, so they are more expensive but most likely fully plug and play and 100% LED, and made in Germany va. Taiwan. Anyway, I'm happy and I'm going to run with these since my time/cash has been invested.
