I am removing my dash and I am blocked, please

need some help to know how to remove the passenger cover and airbag

I have not done this on a Porsche but on other cars: disconnect battery cables & touch together to disapate static, then wait 5 minutes before touching airbag. Passenger cover is not removeable it has a thin seam that will breakaway if airbag deploys. Airbag access is thru glove box or from under dash.

 

I removed the black canvas under it but I have a hard time to see any access to anything,
the way you explain the cover would make part of the airbag

I've removed the dash a couple of times on the 996 (and getting ready to do it again soon). Where are you stuck? There are 2 bolts that hold the airbag unit. You get to them from underneath the passenger side glove box area.
