Chirping sound?
My car is making a weird chirping sound. It almost sounds like crickets. It only does it for a brief second then stops. Mostly at idle and when I take off it stops. Any idea what this could be? I am thinking belt??? It stays when I turn off A/C..

The more I read I am thinking maybe a loose spark plug??

Sounds belt-ish. Is it more frequent at certain temps (either engine or outside) and do you hear it more or less when it is damp outside? I have not heard anything about loose plugs causing this--but I could be wrong.

Where do you hear the sound from? Engine compartment, front, rear, left side, right? Location will really help.
