Creaking sound from passenger side front wheel well during slow turns

As the title mentions, my 996 has developed a "creaking" sound.

Circumstances:

1. Car is stopped or moving at less than 5kph.
2. Driver turns steering wheel left or right (makes no difference).
3. A creaking sound is audible from the front passenger side wheel well area.

It sounds almost like a rusty spring compressing. There are no leaks, vibrations, or other symptoms associated with this issue. I have not touched or taken apart anything in the front wheel well area recently. The sound is not loud enough to be heard under normal driving conditions, but I can hear it very clearly in my parking garage. I checked, and nothing is rubbing.

Any idea what it might be? Is this the Swan Song of my power steering unit?

I am guessing sway bar link or control arm bushings. Take a peek. Good luck
