Looking to add High Mileage 996 to my stable

What are your thoughts on a 1999 P-car with 135K miles? Is that too many miles for a track car only. Its priced at $15K and in great shape. What's compelling is then i would not have to insure DE like I do with my 09 today. Thoughts?

I think your reasoning makes sense. The 996 is THE car of choice for many of my DE friends looking for a dedicated DE car.

Not sure you shouldn't look for something with lower miles and in the 20-25K range but if the PPI checks out..why not.

I sold my 2002 996 with 147K miles for that. The car looked better than new. I miss her!

Nope. Miles don't matter. How it has been maintained during those miles is what matters. If you plan to use it as a DE car, then you'll be going through and making it track safe/ready, which makes the mileage even less relevant.

However, I don't see the logic of spending $15k so you don't have to take out DE insurance on your '09. You can take out a lot of DE insurance for $15k.

15k can buy alot of DE insurance. But who doesn't want another porsche in the stable?
