Fall Frolic Drive Plans

Alrighty everyone, here are the final plans for our Fall Frolic Drive.

Saturday, October 25, 2003

9:00 AM Arrival at Starbuck’s in Fremont ( Starbuck's in Fremont )
9:30 AM Depart for Lathrop, Ca. Join up with a few others at the Lathrop Chevron. ( Lathrop Chevron ) 50.9 Miles.
10:30 AM Arrive in Lathrop, a little pre-flight is done before we head off towards Jackson.
11:00 AM Depart for Drive Pt 2. Which takes us to Villa Toscano in Plymouth, Ca., with a planned ETA of 12:15 PM. (63.5 miles)
12:15 – 1:30 Wine tasting and lunch at the winery Bistro.
1:45 PM Depart for the twisties! This part of the drive should take us about 3 hours. We will make one stop in Volcano for a breather/walk about stop.
4:30 PM Arrive in Jackson to check in at our hotel.
6:00 PM Caravan over to Buscaglia's Restaurant in Jackson for a few drinks.
7:00 PM Dinner!
8:30 PM We can either hit a pub in town for further socializing, or Jackson Rancheriea for a bit of Indian gaming!

Sunday, October 26, 2003

6AM – 9AM Breakfast at your choosing. The hotel provides breakfast, or Mel’s comes highly recommended.
9:15 AM Depart for Murphys. Drive Pt 3. For those who don’t wish to eat and would like to hold off until we get to Murphys, they have quite a few nice places to dine.
10:30 AM Arrival in Murphys for a lunch, site seeing and wine tasting in downtown. I am making this an early day for those who wish to head home so not to deal with the returning Bay Area traffic on Sunday’s.
12 noon Depart for Drive Pt 4 and Photo Op for those who are still left with the group.
1 PM That concludes the Babblers Fall Frolic, drive safely!! I will provide maps with directions for two alternate roads for heading home that are quite fun.

I will provide detailed itineraries for all attendees and co-pilots with maps and directions when we all meet up in Lathrop at the Chevron station.

We have a few participants who are meeting us along the way in various stops, so bare in mind that we could make an additional stop for late joining folks. And of course, the above iten does have the possibility of change, but I don’t think it will vary overly much. Ensure that you have your FRS radios tuned to channel 9.8 If you haven’t one, let me know, I have two extra’s I can lend out. The days are arranged so that you can do one day, both days or start on Sunday if you so wish. If there is anyone who wishes to do Sunday only, shoot me an email or ring me and I will arrange to get you some directions/maps to join us.

Looking forward to seeing you all this weekend!!

Robyn

PPS I need someone to run sweeper on the drive from Lathrop to Plymouth to ensure we stay together...any volunteers?
PPPS Special thanks to Paul for volunteering to lead the drive out to Lathrop.
PPPPS Special thanks to Gary for volunteering to lead a group from the Penninsula into Fremont (Gary is still awaiting plans so this isn't a 100% sure thing yet.)
PPPPPS I'm done PP'ing now.
