996/986 engine differences why?

took my 996 engine apart, after a big end failure, got a new cradle and crank

failed one is a 10/98 production, new one is 02/00 both have the dual row chain
but the cradle is different , there are some small differences in the oil passage ,
can i just install the new cradle or machine the holes

both sides have differences

have a look at the pictures , what do you think

There is a person who has a "compatibility chart" which details what parts from which years and which parts are compatible with others (and likely what modifications need to be done), however he will likely charge you for this information <and/or> make you attend his M96 101 class (and perhaps require you to sign a non disclosure agreement).

Go to flat6innovations.com and contact them, otherwise you will be doing this on your own.
