Car will not start after turning off at the gas station. Got a jump start and the way back home I noticed the voltage meter was fluctuating between 10 and 13 volts. I checked my battery with charger and its reading 12.11 volts. But car won't start. Installed new battery and it started with no problems. But now the generator light turned on after a few minutes of running. Need advice. Please help.

 

Sounds like the alternator is not putting out. What is the voltage with the car running? Is higher than ~13.5v?

 

It was reading 12V only, does this car use charging regulator from alternator?
