What a drive!!!!
What a drive!!!!
I went to see my band, Hot Apple Pie, play at the TASTE OF CINCINNATI this past Sunday (cool event), and decided to drive from Nashville. Typical hwy drive, about 275 miles.....Cincinnati surprised me, especially the view of downtown as you approach...really beautiful, and festive looking. The band sang GOD BLESS AMERICA at the Reds/Pirates game.....by the time we got to our seats, it was 8-0 Reds, so from then on, there wasn't much excitement.
The band played on a stage in downtown Cincinnati, surrounded by a zillion food tents....great crowd, and they did well. Their single, "Hillbillies" is #38 this week, and the whole crowd knew it, and sang along, thanks to a lot of airplay in that city.
We left Cincinnati on Monday, to visit friends in a very rural town in Kentucky (Dunmor), right near where the Everly Bros. grew up. The Porsche must have looked like a spaceship based on the looks we got. When we left Dunmor last night, the PCM II led us on a backroad route to Nashville. It was 1:00am, and not a soul around (and a Passport 8500 for insurance). I looked over, and the wife had her seatbelt on, and based on the sounds coming from her, was sleeping heavily.........so, it was BLAST OFF for me!!!! The twisty roads were a great compliment to the drive. I bought this '03 C4S in Feb, and it had 7500 miles....I cannot believe the improvement that some miles have made....it's a different car, some 4 months, and 8000 miles later.
Hope you all had as much fun this holiday weekend as I did.
