Need help with repair order

Looking at a 2003 C4S with 50k
In 2006 it had cam removed and replaced. Cam adjusted. Engine complete clean. Engine complete remove and reinstall.
Owner states IMS issue was covered under warranty. Just wanted to see if this sounds legit.
Also in 2010. Clutch was replaced. Rear main seal. Intermediate shaft assembly replaced. Total cost over $4,000
Thanks

Here

I just bought a 996C4S 2003 with 31k on her. I had the PPI done and the manager told me he could tell if the IMS bearing had been replaced. Have a PPI done and go from there. If the clutch was replaced along with the RMS and IMS assembly $4K would be about right. Have them check with the shop that did the repairs, in fact you could call them yourself if you like. But sounds ok to me.

Does the owner have repair records? If so call the shop where he had the work done. If not buyer beware. FWIW, personally I would not buy without a PPI from a dealer or a reputable shop, just my opinion.

Well, if he has all the documentation, sit down with it go through it and make a few call to the places that did the repairs. With all the docs, if you drove it and it feels good (clutch, power, etc.) then I think you'll be good. I would then take it to a shop and have an inspection completed as well as an oil change and new air filter. Have them run a rev report this will tell you how hard the car was driven, but in reality, people who keep all the records usually are pretty good with keeping the cars running well and in good shape.
You just have to decide how comfortable you are with the seller and the deal. Good luck let us know how it turns out.

One thing to watch out for - you can replace the intermediate shaft seal without replacing the intermediate shaft bearing. This is frequently done when replacing the RMS. It's not a big deal, you just don't want to be mislead into thinking the intermediate shaft bearing has been replaced when it was just the seal. If you have the paperwork and see the item numbers and the price, you'll be able to tell very easily. I think the seal is less than $200.
