18 inch or 19 inch?

Good afternoon guys
I have a question, On a 2001 C4 i am torn between 18 and 19 inch. no plans for track, im just regular 56 year old ocasional driver who sometimes makes weekend trips, would 19 inch wheels and tires work out or would 18 inch be a better choice?

Do you have no wheels? Unless you have a need or burning desire for different wheels, why not keep you have? I'm sure they're working fine. Both will work for anything you would do. I've had both on two different P's and never noticed any difference.

i have 19's and love them. They look great on the car. You will notice a difference in the ride of the car. A bit more harsh on the 19's,but nothing bad at all.

If you want wheels and tires that are lighter, less expensive, handle better and have a better ride stick with the 18's. If you want to give up all of the above for bling go for the 19's.

My preference is 18s for a host of reasons. That being said, it's your car... get whatever floats your boat...

There are some nice looking wheel options available in 19...

+1 on Dharn55 words. I went through this last year and after much debate and research went with 8.5F and 11R 56mm offset 18' BBS LM's. Reasons? still have great ride, wider track, better handling, great looks (imo) and forged for extra protection on our wonderfull NJ roads. got great advise and price on a package deal from Tire Rack.

I think a big factor is the roads you will be driving on. Here in the PNW (the OP is apparently about 30 minutes north of Seattle) we have crappy roads, and with the municipal budgets the way they are things aren't getting better anytime soon. The roads within the city of Seattle are so bad I have to slow down my full-size SUV on many arterials - places I would never take my Boxster (with 18s).

I just went with 19 techart wheel today from GT3 18" rim.
19" look great! love it and that's all i can say about it.
18" for everything else.
it's even feel slower off the line, may be because these tech art rims weight a ton each.

but i still love it, the ride qaulity is not much difference for me.
cheers

+1 with Dharn55. 19s look nice and have a better tire selection available (more bucks though) but they do deliver a noticeably harsher ride. Also, I have actually had a tire blow out as a result of hitting a bump while driving in a sporty manner with 18s. That risk would increase with 19s, so if your roads aren't the greatest, it is something to consider.
