Dr. T,
So I've heard. I'm not trying to specialize so I'm not too worried. I had an Endo exam today that was difficult. Have perio and endo practical tomorrow. And a few more on Wed. & Thurs.
Dr. T, what kind of dentistry do you practice? Any specialty? If not do you have any preferences in your practice of what you do?
Hope to see you guys in July.

General practice. I especially enjoy the larger restorative/implant cases and esthetics. Bought a CEREC a little over a year ago and absolutely love it as do my patients. General practice has been great....you can see the large cases to completion, do the procedures you enjoy and refer the others.... good luck with the exams.
Hope to see you soon

Dr. T,
Did you get the CEREC 2 or CEREC 3? I heard it cost as much as a nice car. Are there any other machines with similar capabilities? My professor said that molars have higher occlusal forces that might not be good for CEREC restorations.

Bonzo,
CEREC 3D. It really is a phenomenal machine. As long as you have 2mm thickness on occlusal surfaces posteriorly there is no problem. Gordon Christiansen (CRA) has been very positive about the long term results. On bruxers I insist on a nightguard (as with any esthetic restorations), and have had no problems. I would never want to go back to impressions and temps. The cost is almost $100k but after using it for over a year I would gladly pay twice that.
What year are you in and which school?
