Looking for chip to fix E-gas

Does anyone make a chip that will increase the responsiveness of the E-gas (similar to The Shark Chip for E46 M3) ?

I have a 40th Anniversary, and I don't like how the E-gas reacts when I blip the throttle.

TIA,

Matt

Totally agree. Apparently the GIAC chip (flash) addresses this issue (and others), but it's @ $1,000.

I'm just looking for a chip (flash) that re-maps the throttle. I'm really surprised that there isn't one out there.

I'm not so sure that throttle remapping is what you want. I would think that the best throttle response is a linear one that depends on where you are positioning your throttle. The problem is the slight delay in response. I don't think the delay is intentionally placed because it's not a positive thing that would benefit anyone under any situation. I doubt even the GIAC chip could fix the delay. I'm sure throttle response is altered by changing engine performance parameters but delay.... probably not. Maybe switching to monster cable 4 ga wiring with gold contacts would decrease the lag time.

My BMW E46 M3 also has the dreaded E-throttle. However, it has a "sport" button yields a more aggressive throttle map. I'm looking for a chip/flash (similar to Dinan or Shark for the M3). A more aggressive throttle map would (should) eliminate the "lag".

In any event, it doesn't look like such a chip exists. No worries though, I still absolutely adore my P-Car.

Thanks for your input

Matt
