Replacing Windshield Trim/Surrouind

Has anyone ever changed the trim/surround around the windshield? Just wondering if this piece can be easily replaced without removing the windshield?

Thanks.

invius is infamous around these parts
I haven't replaced it, but I put in the foam cord for the noise canceling, that goes all around the trim.. What is prompting you to replace it?

I've got a Boxster S, which has part of this piece painted silver. It is stained and looking bad - a common problem. Replacement part is only $50, but haven't been able to determine if it can just be popped off.
