30,000 Mile Service - Houston - Need Advice

Houston Folks -

I'm coming up on 30,000 miles on my 2001 996 and I'm debating where to have it serviced.

Anyone familiar with Texas German Authohaus on Edloe? The other choices are the dealers (momentum - advantage) or doing it myself (not likely).

Any reccomendations? They all charge around $650-700.

Thanks in advance,

Paolo

Paolo,

I had similar decision to make recently on my 30K service, either going to the dealer or Pro-Technik (great workshop specializing only in Porsche). Basically, it boils down to your warranty expiration. My warranty was due to expire and I chose to service my car at Momentum as they could fix any issues under warranty if necessary.

It's really a personal choice as prices are all similar for 30K service.

Good luck!

Same deal for me re the warranty, did it at the dealer, fixed a hundred little complaints under warranty, 1000$, worth it to me, esp if you ever need the dealer to go to bat for you.

TGA, Pro Technik, and Viking are all great shops, but I would agree with the guys above - take it to the dealer if car is under warranty and have them fix other stuff while they are at it.
