I say go with stick so you can really apreciate the car, but if you are in traffic a lot and you use it as an everyday driver then maybe tip is the answer. The 996 will be a lot smoother and softer than the s2000 so also keep that in mind. Beware if you get a tip there will sometimes be p-eople asking who buys a porsche in automatic?

I am surprised how many people advocate the tip. I could not imagine buying this car as an automatic. I have no trouble at all in traffic...can still shift and work the blackberry. To me at least I just do not feel the same connection to a car when it is not a manual. Plus there are always other fun things you can do with your g/f and the stick!!

Hey by the way let me make note that getting laid in a 996 is a very difficult task, you cant use the backseats because they are divided in the middle, its just an overall difficult task
