Clean your radiator

I've only been a Porsche owner for a little over a year. Don't know everything there is to know about them. While surfing the web I came across a video about cleaning the radiator. It had never crossed my mind to do that. I tackled that job today and was glad I did. The pics tell the story. Leaves, twigs, bugs, and other debris between both radiators and condensers. After using an old paint brush to wipe away the big stuff I found built up grime between the grates then pressure washed. Put it all back together and the temp gauge actually reads cooler while driving on the freeway. It had been reading 190+ degrees almost constantly and I was told that was normal. It's now reading below 180 degrees. As a beginner it took me about 2 1/2 hrs start to finish. Tools needed: Phillips screwdriver, flat-head screwdriver, Torx tool, and a pressure washer.

Yea,that's one of those things that are important to do that you would never think about. Id also throw cleaning the car water drains out in there.

I cleaned my 996 radiator last weekend and I was shocked with all the crap in there. Will likely do my 997 soon as well. It is really surprising how much crap gets in between the AC coil and radiator. This should be a regular maintenance thing
