Is this a good deal? Please help.

Thanks in advance for you input on this. I have a friend selling a 05 996 C2 with a supercharger and techart GTstreet aero kit and interior. The car has 18000 miles which is low.

It is labeled a GTstreet but I can not find anything that says techart built a GTstreet on a C2, rather everything says their base is a turbo or GT2. The car looks great and is in great condition, but he is asking 65k for it and I am not familiar with any car that is supercharged.

Of course there is no paperwork since he got it from a friend who was loosing it when his business had an issue a year ago. There is no cage in the car but the interior is upgraded.

Any idea on these? How would I tell if it is a techat build? A comparable non tricked out car looks like it goes for about 45k, so wondering if the supercharged, wing, interior, and wheels add another 20k. It feels stiff, but I really like the car.

Thanks for your help.

Take some pics, get the Vin and go to a Porsche Dealership or a shop that knows Porsche and ask them.

Off hand I'd say "no".

Here is the car's "trade in value" from www.kbb.com:

  • Excellent
    $37,435
  • Very Good
    $36,935
  • Good
    $36,035
  • Fair
    $33,535
If you pay $65K for this car you are really paying a premium for while a low miles car one that has been heavily mod'd and given the mods and low miles possibly a track car one that has been thrashed.

In my opinion the SC and other mods detract from the car's value.

My advice would be to seek out a similar car, but stock car, and in good condition and buy the car.

Then if you want mod it to your heart's content or what your wallet will bear.

MY 05 C2 should be a 997 not a 996.

Definitely agree with Macster, go buy a stock one and bolt on all that you want, and get a car that is EXACTLY like you want, and more than likely for way less than 65k.

Actually the 996 was still available as an early 2005.
