Oil pressure indicator issue...WTF is going on

I realize that once you fill up, and turn the key to the first position, one gets a read of the oil level status. However, the last two times I filled up, the oil level indicator read very low as well as the oil pressure indicator (below 2). Once I get going, both indicators are back to normal. I am guessing an electrical glitch, or something is on it's way out. Any thoughts, or similar experiences, would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked the oil on the dipstick? That's where I'd start.

Oil sending units sometimes fail on these cars, causing dropouts on the oil pressure gauge.

Oil level is dependent upon temperature. A cold engine's oil level will read lower than the same engine parked in the same spot and fully warmed up.

Since it has been cold (for this area) the last couple of days you may be experiencing this for the first time, or having experienced it last year and having forgotten about it.

I have to ask: The oil is relatively fresh and something approved?

Mobil 1 0W40 3,000 miles ago. Checked the dipstick, and I was about 3/4 of a quart low (Thank you Dennis C). I added 3/4 quart of fresh oil, and hopefully, issue solved. If not, looks like a new oil sender unit. Thanks all.
