carfax ??

anyone have access to carfax? can they run a report for me --

I agree. Purchase a pre-owned beater a while back, wrecked it, fixed it. Went to sell it to a dealer and the carfax showed I was the original owner with no wrecks or damages..

Not reliable.

I really don't think it will make a difference - more curious than anything to see what was on it.

If you're car shopping, you can purchase a 1-month unlimited membership to CarFax that will allow you to check as many VINs as you like. It's not expensive. It's also not a bad idea to run a report on a car that you're selling so you can see what will turn up when prospective buyers run a CarFax on your car...
