Bilstein Shocks US vs Europe different?
Hi There,
I've been following the forums for quite some time and learned a lot thanks to all members! I'm living in Turkey and own a 1998 996 Type Carrera 4.
Recently, my left rear shock absorber got broken and went to my mechanic to replace it. I've been quoted for a whooping $800 for each of the shocks and a quick check on the internet shown me that they are actually in $200 price range in US so I decided to order from US. I talked with a sales guy in allshocks.com and he said to me that these shocks are different as US and European so it might not fit into my car. My mechanic told me that there won't be any problem but I wanted to be sure so wanted to ask in here, so do any of you have any idea whether there is such a difference or not?
Thanks in advance...
Ozden

I don't think the units are different, the only thing I would suspect would be different would be the ride height since US import regulations won't let our cars sit as low out of the factory.
