anybody know how to remove the clock and odo button on the speedo?

anybody know how to remove the clock and odo button on the speedo?

thought of replacing them with some painted ones. the seller isn't 100 percent sure on how to do it. anybody removed these or installed them before? he said you should be able to just pull them out, but that doesn't sound right to me. i hate to damage my dash over a ten dollar part.

they just pull out and push back in
