Early 996 TC Question

Hi guys I was wondering if anyone could please help me out with a question regarding traction control on my 99' C2. During track days, I notice that my rear brake pads wear out almost twice as fast as the front pads. I'm assuming this is TC kicking in, but I have no TC button. From what I've read, if there is no button the car is not equipped with TC...so how could this be happening? If it is TC, how would I deactivate it?

Thanks,
-Danny

You wil only have a TC button on the dash if you have a LSD. As far as I know there is no TC on early 996 without an LSD. My first inclination is to say there is an issue brake balance problem directing too much brake bias to the rear brakes. I run my car at the track and my front pads wear much faster than the rear.

Thanks for your input bornrich. I've tracked many times before with different cars and the front pads always wore twice as fast as the rears. I've had the brakes checked out and the shop can't find anything. Any other input from yourself or any other of the forum members would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
-Danny
