PCM1 California Navigation CD needed.....

Anyone know where I can get the CD for a reasonable cost?

Porsche used to have Navtech make these but they stopped supporting the PCM1 in the mid 2000's. if you can find one it will be hopelessly out of date.

That sucks really! Can I use PCM2 CD's?

No the later CD's won't work. So the bottom line is that the PCM1 is really just an old stereo with a screen.

My buddy bought his 2000 in 2006 and even back then Porsche had stopped supporting the PCM1, i.e. they no linger paid Navtech to update the disc's. kind of sad that they stopped the support so soon after they were selling the systems.

However the real bottom line is that any smart phone can use a free GPS app that is constantly updated and will be better than anything in a car, which will be out of date almost as soon as you buy it. Such is technology these days.

That really sucks I just bought a Navigation kit to install into my car and without the correct disks this thing is useless to me. Thanks for the info!
