Did you at least ask him if the spoiler was up?

One over the past three years. Also, within the first month of ownership. 105 in a 65. And, in traffic. If you're going to go ***** out, go ***** out. Zig, zag, zig, zag, zig, zag, zig, SMOKEY . I pulled over, and waited for him. My courtesy paid off. He wrote me an 84 mph ticket. $432 including online traffic school; no point.

I think the fastest in the 911 charged was 80 in a 65 on I95 in VA but ended up taking a class for $50 after fighting it in court(PBJ).

I went to court locally this week for 105 in a 55 but not in the 911..

Another time 84 in a 55 I dragged it out in court for about a year and ended up with a 65 in a 55 plus court refunds.

All other times I'm a catch and release due to other reasons.

Can't remember them all...

Even with a radar detector I get pulled over once in a while. Hey, I've racked up 267K miles in my 02 Boxster, 97K miles in my 03 Turbo (since June 09) and with that many miles one's going to get pulled over.

(This does not include the 120K miles in that same time frame with an 02 VW Golf TDi and nearly 40K miles in an 06 GTO and Torrid Red: Never got pulled over. Oh and uncounted miles in rental cars.)

So all told that's around 524K miles of driving since Jan 02.

Anybody in a minivan, a pick up, just about any vehicle can get away with 10mph over in many places but a Porsche Turbo? Hah! Heck even in my lowly Boxster tooling along in the slow lane at 5mph under the limit I got pulled over one night down on I-20 in Texas by an over eager city kitty who when the red car passed my Boxster. I knew the trap was there long before I crested the slight rise thanks to my V1 and the reports I heard over the CB radio that clued me in miles before there was a speed trap ahead. I got pulled over but I managed to convince the officer he made a mistake and he let me off with a "warning".

Last ticket was around May of last year. 90mph in a 65mph. Bogus ticket. CHP officer was aiming the radar beam towards both directions of 880 at the Dumbarton Bridge exit and while some other vehicle was speeding he only had eyes for my Turbo.

I contacted an attorney (Lee Mezzetti in Fremont CA -- he deserves a plug cause his office did a heck of a good job) and turned the ticket over to his office and the ticket was dismissed. Officer failed to show up.

There have been others... Let's see there were a couple in Texas. I used an attorney for the 1st one and the rest I handled by myself. Texas offers probation before adjudication (PBA) and I do that and the tickets just kind of melt away as long as one does the paperwork right.

In AZ I appeared before the judge -- after I had spoken with the PA -- and while I thought I had a good case for getting the ticket thrown out I was not certain I'd be free to make it back for the next hearing so I talked to the judge and the fine ($75 IIRC) was tiny and the judge added just a point on my license (the PA told me the ticket would cost me "3 points") which was point free then and once the point wore off point free again.

That's the only ticket since sometime in the mid-90's that has not been dismissed or handled by PBA.

I see so many worse things than speeding and yet I see no one pulled over for any of them. My belief is one could rob Fort Knox and as long as he didn't speed he could make a clean get away. But set off that radar gun alarm...

You've described me to a T. I set my cruise-control at 80 for most of my 101 and 280 commutes.

I'm not sure if that's gotten me off of any tickets. In fact, I've gotten a ticket on a rural West Marin road (83 in a 55). I'm not upset, though. The donation to 11-99 is a great cause that truly helps out surviving members of fallen CHPers.

In that particular case, my V1 was drowned out by having the top down and the music blasting to compensate for the wind noise. When the CHPer saw the V1 (remote mount, but still visible), it probably nullified the effect of the license plate.

Not one speeding ticket, but one fix-it ticket for not having front license plate LOL

Never speed on Dumbarton Bridge near the end of the month. They're always ticketing to raise revenue.

I have been driving Porsche cars since 1973 and one speeding ticket two years ago. I was entering the freeway and opened the throttle to reach traffic speeds, and I guess according to the CHP officer, went over 100 mph. He ticketed me for 80 in a 75 mph zone
