2002 carerra triptronic question

My 996 has 80k miles on it and runs great but today after driving it easy all day and after being stopped at a red light for a couple of minutes I jabbed the gas about 3/4 throttle and it felt like the tranny sliped for a split second. The back end squatted and then it grabbed. Is this the PSM system or did my triptronic slip and grab. No codes were set should I be concerned or is this normal

Sounds like it could have dropped to first gear. Normal take off is in second gear but if you put a lot of pedal in it the trans selects first.
I am assuming the vehicle was in D (drive) at the time.
You should be able to replicate this easily. Just watch the dash for the lights. The first gear take off is very quick compared to the second gear takeoff.

Thanks I will try to relicate it. I,m sure it dropped into first but I expected it to grab and leave rubber instead it felt like it slipped for a moment and I got off the gas. I will try it again with fingers crossed i dont want to lunch that expensive tranny.
