any japanese catalytic converters?

Sadly my catalytic converters have went bad just beyond the powertrain warranty.
Oem is pretty ridiculous new...
In keeping with my odd JDM motif, does anyone know of any Japanese made catalytic converters for our 996?
If no Japanese ones were made (which is what I suspect), which of the many aftermarket ones causes the least CEL issues?
NHP? fabspeed? kline?
thanks!

Keep in mind some states will only accept OEM cats for replacement. Even if you pass the emissions test you could fail on visual. That said, if they look similar and function the same there should be no issue.

My advice/suggestion is to check out the dismantlers and/or junk yards. You'll be better off with factory equipment than searching for a cheap fix. The dismantler and/or junk yard price will be much cheaper than OEM new.

In California, you cannot buy cats from a junkyard for use in your car. They can only be recycled. This may be the case in other states also.

I had the same issue a couple of months ago, and after some due diligence, I decided to convert to the Speed Venture X-Pipe with the high flow cats. I had no trouble passing emissions here in California although, I suspect that if the emissions was done at a shop where they include visual check, I might have had a problem. The X-Pipe not only reduced the weight, but the performance improved and the sound is sublime
