I am curious what the accurate factory supplied performance numbers were. I have read in many publications that my 2003 C4S w/ Tiptronic was rated at 315 HP and 320 HP in others. Not that I am worried about 5 Horsepower...esp. where over the past 11 years/46k miles, my car has probably lost more than 5 hp. I've also read top speeds varying between 170-175 MPH and 0-60 times of 4.5-5.0 seconds. These numbers I have seen in Wiki and such publications such as old Motor Trend articles. I'm just curious what Porsche's released #s were if anyone knows.

 

It was 320HP. I think top speed was about 186, and 0-60 5.1? Not sure about the last one though.

 

Porsche has historically understated performance numbers. Testing after cars have been launched generally produces faster times than Porsche publishes.

The last numbers I saw for the 996 C4S manual were: 320 HP, 4.6 seconds 0 - 60 mph, 178 mph top speed.
