997 leather seats in 996

Has anyone tried installing 997 leather seats front and rear in a 996? I saw a 996 with fresh 997 leather in the front and the rear and it looked really nice.

Now I'm wondering how involved it is as far as plugging in the power and heated seats. Plug and play or a bunch of wiring hacking needed?

Unfortunately, that's not the case. Rewiring will be required in the majority of cases. The wiring harness isn't the same between the 996 and 997 seats, and you'll need to find a seat that has the exact options that your old seat has in terms of memory, heat, power, etc.

It can be done otherwise, but it isn't just "plug and play". This is true even when swapping seats between 996 cars.
