Inside the door, there is physical wire and an electric wire hooked up to the latch microswitch. Make sure the microswitch is hooked up. It sounds like it may not have been rehooked up when the inner door card was put back on.

 

So i tried the whole capacitive discharge today multiple times. Anyways i have had to disconnect my battery every time. So few hours late...the trunk latch is now stuck. So strange and ive done this 30 times in the last 2 days.
So my battery is dissconected and the trunk latch is no working.

I have a 2000 btw so its the manual latch. I didnt even know the latch could be locked!

Im just gonna tow it to a indy and have them figure it out. It will cost me but oh well.
