Storage Shelf in Dash

Hey All,

I ordered an additional storage shelf for the dash of my MY99 996. I was hoping to replace the stock cassette holder unit with this additional shelf (I can’t believe there were still cassette tapes in 1999). Unfortunately, after removing the cassette holder it appears the shelf is made for the bottom slot in the dash only. Does anyone know if there is another part number for a shelf to replace that cassette holder (second to bottom opening in the dash)?

Thanks,
Nate

I need something along the same lines.
I cut out the top two upper dash slots to make a single dual DIN slot to take a Nav system (AVIC D1) ... works great !

I moved the A/C controls to the absolulte bottom slot and had to hack up the plastic surround to do this.

I think that the 996's with factor nav actually move the A/C controls to the lowest slot and I'm looking for any info on that ...

There are two different part numbers for the boxes below the radio - one upper one lower.

996 552 253 01 01C

That number will get you the one that replaces the tape or cd storage.

And yes, we carry all factory parts if you need them.

Thanks for the info Gents! Eric, I don't see that part on the website. Will you pm me the price and ordering info?

BTW, do you have anything else that might be interesting for that opening? Maybe something with factory look gauges?

Thanks,
Nate
