Cool

I bought a 911 6 years ago (I was 25) because I'd wanted one since I was 5 years old. It was a manual and a coupe - the only 911 I would consider regardless of drivetrain, etc. but that's personal preference. To put it simply, I bought it out of my enjoyment of driving an automobile! It is the best daily driver out there and the 911 makes me smile every moment I am behind the wheel. I also maintain all of my cars myself and have done so on my Porsches. I was a mechanic in college so am able and enjoy the process not to mention my trust issues.

As for a recommendation, if you are a good mechanic, love to drive cars, and understand that there are some costs that could be substantially higher than a regular car, then do it! Forget the lifestyle crap and all else. Buy a 911 because you love to drive!

I put 158,000 on my last one before it got totaled. I was still driving the **** out of it and will on the Turbo I just bought. Good luck to you in your decision!
