As I understand it Porsche has dropped the Artic Silver Color. For those of us who have that color car will that fact increase the value? I know for some cars it will especially if it was a limited number run but I don't have a feel for what it might do to the Porsche value.

 

I'm guessing they'll replace it with a similar silver and new name. BMW does that every few years. I don't expect it will have any impact since it was such a popular color. But I hope so - 04 4S cab arctic silver/black.

 

The closest I could see was Rhodium Silver which seems to have blue in it.

 

Hard to tell on the website. GT Silver Metallic is a $3140 special order upgrade, but it looks almost exactly to Rhodium online.

 

I think Porsche has offered more variants of silver than any other color.

I would think it will appeal to some buyers, but given the production numbers for the 996 and the "relatively" low market value of the 996, I'd be surprised if it made much of a difference in the value of the car. I think Polar a Silver is actually more unusual on the 996, as well as GT Silver mentioned above.
