The interior stuff is in excellent condition, minus the seats! They are starting to de-color and the center portion of the driver's seat is coming off. Besides that, the car is in excellent condition. Thanks for the compliment btw!

Nice. Easy enough to start. I notice you're in NJ. Where did you get them?

Thanks everyone, I'm excited to finally be a Porsche owner. I was nervous but I love the car so far, so I'm definitely selling my Saleen! How many of you have a Cabriolet? What's the best way to clean the convertible top and portion to the front of it just behind the rear seats? Its a bit dirty...any suggestions?

Btw, unlike other car manufacturers, all 996 cabs came with the hardtop as standard but most cab owners usually either sell it or decide to opt out at the dealers.
That actually came up in conversation with someone. We were trying to figure out if it was a stock option, thanks for answering that lol. I'll get it modded someday. Baby steps lol, gotta clean the top and the other part and get those seats fixed first. The major service is coming up at 60,000 miles too so I've gotta do that first. Then I'll work on mods

Don't sell it! I learned to drive in my dad's Mustang which he adored.

There are many cab canvas cleaners out there but be careful with what you wash it with. It is a lint trap (I keep a lint brush in the trunk). For tough scrubs (damn birds), I use a small, soft nail brush. I'm sure you'll get a variety of product feedback from the guys too. I spent 3 hours yesterday, cleaning, waxing and polishing mine! Take care

Thanks! I've been hearing/reading a lot about Raggtop. Have you heard any good/bad stories about it. I don't want to sell the Saleen either. It's a 99 as well, supercharger and everything! I don't really drive it much though, it only has 23,000 miles on it. I paid cash for the Porsche so I have to replenish the funds with the sale of the Saleen unfortunately. Plus I need to make room in the garage for my daily driver haha. This site has been more than helpful and I did a lot of research on the forum before I purchased the Porsche.

And am I assuming correctly that Porsche tops are vinyl?

Congratulations! Were you able to avoid snow on the way back?
The top is not vinyl, it's a special fabric. Porsche makes a convertible top shampoo and a preservative that are not too expensive if you don't know what else to use. They also have a cleaner for the plastic rear window.

Thanks XR4Tim!

Thanks! I was able to avoid it, and only ran into a little bit of rain when I crossed back into Ohio. It was hard to leaving Charlotte's 86 degree weather to come back to Ohio to the 40's. I've seen the product, looks like I'll have to purchase the Porsche shampoo and preservative kit! I'm glad you said something because I almost purchased the Raggtop.
