Suspension, Anyone Have This Set-up

Does anyone have this set-up?

Bilstein sport shocks with H&R lowering springs? From what I can see the sport shocks go nicely with the lowering springs. I was thinking of this instead of H&R Street Performance Coilovers.

I tired the same set up years ago. I didn't like the handling. Car felt bouncy, not well planted. I switched them out for a set of PSS9's. A thousand times better! I then switched those out for re valved GT3 coil overs with 700/900 pond springs. Use the car mostly for track now. The PSS9's were a little soft for me. They're great for the street and some track use though.

I haven't personally tried this on a 996 but I've used that setup on 3 different BMW's and it was fine. CO's are overrated and often under utilized IMO for mostly street driven vehicles. I have gt3 CO's but only because I got a great deal on them and needed the adjustability to set a height between the ROW and x74's height due to the roads around here.

If you want a non CO setup that is matched the closest apart from the OEM options, you might want to look into the Koni kit which comes with "matched" spring setup. I believe they're on sale now at tirerack.

I have this set up, per the PO. It handles better than stock 996's I've driven but there are parts it feels bouncy (mid turn and a bouncy feel is unsettling). However, the ride quality for how low it is, is quite good for a daily.

i have this set up, to include 19's (295r/235f), 18mm spacers in the front. GT3 allignment and yet like blown996 said, it was just a little bouncy... Revalved the bilstein's at 11kg/CM(very aggressive), now is great (lots of track, but lots of highway too)....

What tire pressures did you have? I found you need to adjust your tire pressures usually when going with higher spring rates. I have the factory gt3 coilovers and my rear was dancing all over the place during mid corner bumps until I adjusted the tire pressures to a more like gt3 setting.
