Leaving work one evening I noticed my headlights weren't coming on. The running lights are functioning and my high beam flasher is working but the low beam and the high beam aren't coming on. I made it home with my fog lights.

I searched the thread for "headlight issue" but didn't find anything that resembles my situation. I checked my fuses and all are good. My next step is to pull out the headlight switch and clean/replace. Since both sides went out at the same time, I don't suspect bulbs.

Does anyone have any experience troubleshooting this issue?? Thanks in advance. As the title says, I have a 2002 996 mkII with Xeon Headlights.

 

Had same problem. Turned lights on and off many times and they would work.
New light switch fixed the problem.

 

+1 on light switch...had exactly the same problem as you described, new light switch fixed it.


Incidentally, it's Xenon...not Xeon
