Cool Guage install completed (pics)

Wanted to share some pics of my recent guage install.

Picked up a 2000 black/tan convertible about 2 months ago.
Been rather busy since I am also going through an international move, but finally found the time to say "let the modding begin !"

Anyway, chose to go for a combo of the aluminum guages and bezels. Turned out to be rather nice, especially since I've already got some aluminum in my car.

The guage install went OK. Took about 2 hours. Had prior experience to doing it to my R1, which certainly helped.
The nastiest part is getting the needles to get back to their original position, which is a trial and error process.

Anyway - here you go :

my tech told me he tried to do a gauge face transfer a couple of times and he suggested not doing it because he took his time but still manage to mess it up - 2 of the needles did not work after reinstallation???

he said something about 2002 an newer cars having their needles stuck to the gauge cluster differently than pre-02 cars. he didn't know for sure but had heard this.

any idea how this can be avoided or how this happened?

thanks

I'll post some pics next weekend, that's when my interior will be complete (I'm tossing in a 'wood' mid console and airco vents).

Regarding the installation : the instructions that came with the guages were really poor and 'generic' for any car (i.e. not Porsche specific).
As I mentioned, having performed the operation before on a motorcycle really helped. Without that prior experience, it would have been way tougher.
