Convertible top

What can cause the soft top to malfunction? When I press the rocker switch, the windows go down and the windshield latch releases, but dash light blinks and nothing else happens. Please advise thanks

Do you hear a winding noise like it's trying to work? If so,you're probably out of convertible top hydraulic fluid. It's a common problem, usually caused by the the pistons leaking out. I would refill mine a few times a year before i got fed up and changed the pistons.

For starters, you've got a micro-switch issue I would guess. You would get the same result if you're parking brake switch is not engaging. Make sure that your parking brake dash light is iluminated prior to putting the top down.

There either are two switches for the parking brake, or else there is another failure mode. Mine did same thing, light flashed, no top movement, parking brake light was on. Dealer reset the fault, and its worked fine ever since. Dealer told me I needed a new switch for parking brake...they see this regularly. Switch was cheapest part I have ever bought for my 911, $7. I have it, but havent installed it yet.
