Zounds, this stuff is expensive!!! Is there a cheaper alternative? Common hydraulic oil, or perhaps mineral oil, or.....?

I used John Deer ride on mower as advised by the parts store. To hell with Porsche stuff at their prices. Mine has been working fine for the past 2 months.
