Neither at those prices. Personal plates in the States cost $30. In the UK most people know the car is a 911 anyway so I don't see the point. If all your initials were there then that would be better than BUD. Keep trying.

I remember personalized plates to the UK. What a ******* racket... Plate worth more than the car in some cases! And the fun and games with spacing and making numbers look like letters... A friend whose first name was Nigel and last name began with B got N14ELB as his plate because font used made the 1 look like an I and the 4 looks like a G. Needless to say this was a continuous source of fun for many of us and we'd refer to him as "Niffel"

Not that it will help you in anyway. Just to let you know that I have a personalized plate of EX-LANCS (I originate from Lancashire in the UK ) on our Mini Van and my plate on the 996 is DVR GUY. Nothing to do with the Porsche but relating to scuba diving. My wife has DVR GAL on her Toyota Avalon. They cost about $100 for the three plates.

nice to hear & see the ingenuity on some plates. As Hurdi probably recalls private plate in the UK are costly with the cheapest being around £180 (approx $270) plus transfers and plates. Once you buy it you own it with no renewal fees each year unless you have it on retention and not registered to your car. These plates are mostly meaningless everyday plates example R709KFS or SG04SKL. If you want a plate with meaning, spelling or you end up paying a whole lot more, see my original post.

oh and for those feeling really flush, currently the cost on carreg.co.uk for 911POR or The911 would set you back £57,700 and £55,200 respectively (around $85,000 mark)

i would keep the standard plate, you are just making your car easier for a cop to remember and make it more noticeable

plus, dont most brits think youre a tosser if youre running a private plate ?
