The engine and transmission were brand new from porsche factory according to repair receipts that I saw. Not sure about how porsche handles ims when they replace their engines.
Post Pics, thanks

If you don't need the AWD and wanna shed a couple lbs, you could always disconnect it and remove it. There's been many guys that's done this. In the mk1, it's even more compelling to do this even if you're looking for RWD as the awd mk1 c4 has stiffer chassis than the c2.

There are too many cars out there for sale, wait till you find what you want. DO NOT purchase without a professional PPI. $3-$4k, doesn't matter if it is what you want.

Not a chance would I spend 22,000 on a car that may only bring a head ache and a hole in my wallet.

I would say the opposite. To me each day without having a 911 in the garage to drive would make me feel like what the hell am I doing working so hard to wait and wait for that perfect Porsche. If it's used there is no perfect 911. Even the new ones go through growing pains sometimes. I would just say find color combo that excites you, test drive it. If it drives great, feels good, buy it, get the title and go drive the hell out of it and enjoy life while you can. I think he made it clear that he makes a decent living and could pay for a used 911 with a months worth of salary. All those hours being stuck in an office helping people get better, need to have a 911 to jump into on the way home and escape. I know rant...just get one. You will enjoy it.

$22600 for a 2002 with 55k from a retail dealer is not bad at all, i dont know what all these geniuses here are talking about. I am in the car biz and just a couple of weeks ago a 2003 with 93,000 miles sold for $19,200 at manheim...yes a year newer but 50k more miles. GET a PPi and if its all good you should consider it

the 996.2 is a great car, if your really worried about IMS then get it and the clutch changed out for $3,000 and voila you have a car that should last you another 150k if you take care of it!
