Thanks everyone!

Car is ready to pick up on Monday, LN Engineering IMS, RMS, installed, as well as a new Sachs clutch kit and LUK flywheel. Should be good for at least another 5k miles before something else goes wrong

Mind me asking.....

how much you gave for the car? I bought my 2001 C4 in Texas for $26.5K. I too have the foam coming out the vents but eventually it will stop once the foam is gone....mine had 48k miles now has 56k but I took it on a round trip from nashville to miami last week... Click image for larger version

I paid $13k for the car

Nice looking car, the foam wouldn't bother me if I still had heat..

What a great story---and a great price!
I drove Porsches in Chicago, snow and all for nearly 15 years. 928, C2, and C4S: All of them are...exciting in snow. Particularly when you spin a C2 360 degrees on a ramp, yet manage to avoid touching the Armco and come to rest pointing in the right direction. Proof there IS a God...

Enjoy your lovely white 911, sir.

Thanks everyone!

The car has been...well...pricey to say the least

After getting the car back after the IMS/AOS/RMS, Clutch/Flywheel replacement, it was discovered there were 4 bent teeth on the flywheel, which was misdiagnosed as a Crankshaft Position Sensor, which was another $550 bill (including diagnostic work for my alarm).

I just installed new tires all around, and have new rotors/pads/sensors sitting in my living room waiting for install.

I also played around with plastidip for a while, wheels are now silver again, until I find a color to paint them

And what do you guys think of this color for the wheels? I think it looks extraordinarily good, not sure if it's a bit too flashy though...

+1 Yeah Pricey ! That's what my wife would say. My 04 is a daily driver. 121,000 miles now. In the last 10,000 miles we've spent about $5,000. That also includes putting on a new convertible top. But let me tell you, it eats rear tires. Just a few days ago I heard my wife ask me again " We need tires again" lol. Now I'm looking to get the drivers door lock replaced and possibly the window regulators. It's not a cheap date kinda vehicle like my Tundra, but when I drive the Porsche it's like no other. Cheers !

Oh and every time I go to the indy, it's rare to walk outta there without a $500+ bill. I try and do a lot of stuff on my own and that helps as well.

They are attention-getting, but perhaps a bit...well, ethnic. I will leave it at that.
If they are to be on your white 996, what of white wheels? A bit monochromatic, but potentially striking. Especially if you can find a way to leave the rims silver, but the spokes alone in white.
There's no right answer, but for the one that's right for you.

Lousy dogs. Absolutely no common sense, when it comes to cars.
Don't agree? Well then, show me ONE dog that's ever made a sensible automobile purchase.
There ya go.
